Craig celebrates one year at Schon&Co!

What's your favourite thing about working at Schon&Co?

Definitely the team. Everyone is so supportive, approachable, and genuinely kind — it makes such a difference coming into work each day knowing you’re surrounded by people who want you to do well. I can honestly say I enjoy working with the people I do. There’s a real sense of collaboration and shared purpose; everyone is committed and passionate about what they do, and that creates this great buzz of energy and creativity. You can feel that people care about both the quality of their work and about each other, which makes it a really motivating and inspiring environment to be part of.

How has Schon&Co supported you in your first year here?

There’s a great culture of lifelong learning embedded into Schon&Co. We’re all constantly learning from each other from our strengths and weaknesses (across all levels), which is brilliant given the variety of backgrounds that we’ve all come from. More specifically, there’s been quite a bit of training throughout the year which is a big help.

What is your biggest achievement or favourite achievement so far?

Securing coverage and getting interviews with the big names. We’ve a whole host of exciting clients with great stories to tell. Since joining last November, it’s been great to play my part in sharing those stories with the journalists that really have an impact. We’ve had extensive coverage on a whole range of topics and insights which have been covered throughout both the big nationals and the more niche trade outlets, not just here but also around the world. One of the big highlights for me this year has been working on stories around the critical impact of world water supply. Water is our most precious resource and given that we have had the warmest spring and summer on record as well as the driest spring in over 130 years, it’s a very important topic. We’ve been all over this from developing our own research to analysis of the Cunliffe report. This puts into context just how serious crafting the right message and delivering real results is not just for our clients but for wider society.

What are you looking forward to next?

Growing more. There’s always room for improvement and a few lessons along the way - especially as the media landscape continues to shift. It's an exciting time to be in any kind of communications role, with new media taking up more and more of people’s attention. There’s lots to adapt to but there’s also an opportunity to lead and guide our clients through this exciting period of change. On top of that there’s AI, the ever changing political economy of the UK and the rest of the world, and so much more. PR has never had such a vital role to play in our society. More specifically, we’re currently working on the Tech Compass results for our client, Bosch. Having worked on this last year and now finalising content and planning our sell-ins for this year, it’s a very exciting time. There’s lots to be taken from this kind of research; not just what it says about how we feel about technology today but also about what we can expect from tomorrow.
