Welcome to the team, Hannah!

How has your past experience influenced your approach to communications?

Working in property and real estate has taught me a lot about how government policy and public expectations shape the news agenda. It gave me a better understanding of how to identify opportunities for clients within wider industry conversations and respond to issues in a way that feels timely and relevant.

My experience has also helped me develop a more strategic approach to communications; not just promoting a client, but positioning them as a trusted adviser who can bring clarity to complex topics that people outside the industry may not fully understand.

What made you interested in joining Schon&Co.?

What attracted me to Schon&Co. was the opportunity to work in a smaller agency with a really big and broad mix of skill sets, where you can learn from different people and get involved in a variety of work. I  like the collaborative atmosphere because it creates more freedom to try new things and develop skills in a well-rounded way.

The range of clients and the international aspect were also really appealing, as I enjoy working across different industries and markets. I’m confident the variety will support my career development by exposing me to different ways of working and allowing me to take on new challenges.

What company values matter to you the most and why?

Openness and collaboration are really important to me (and having strong role models within the team). I really value being around people with experience who you can learn from, shadow and develop skills with day to day. I also think openess is important, as I enjoy being in an environment where people are willing to share ideas with each other and encourage growth - something which is immediately obvious about the team at Schon&Co.

What are you most excited about working on?

I’m excited to sink my teeth into industries that are different from what I’ve worked on before and expand my knowledge across new sectors. I enjoy learning quickly, understanding different markets, and finding the best way to communicate complex topics to different audiences.

Which area of corporate communications are you most looking forward to the most?

I’m particularly interested in media training, especially now, when communication goes far beyond traditional media. I find it really interesting, not just helping spokespeople come across well in interviews or on the news, but also helping them communicate confidently and authentically across platforms like LinkedIn and other social media platforms, where personal branding has become so important.
